About the Role
The Department of Health is looking for a dedicated Pharmacy Supervisor Grade 1 to join the Du Noon Community Day Centre, located in the vibrant area of Cape Town. What You’ll Do
- Manage the procurement, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals at the Du Noon Community Day Centre.
- Monitor pharmaceutical expenditure and implement budgetary control measures.
- Oversee the Chronic Dispensing Unit (CDU) and Private Provider processes to ensure effective service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with minimum dispensing standards and promote rational medicine use.
- Lead human resource management activities, including staff development and performance management.
- Compile and update Standard Operating Procedures for pharmacy operations.
- Represent the pharmacy department in management meetings and strategic planning sessions.
What You’ll Need
- A basic qualification accredited with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) that allows registration as a Pharmacist.
- Registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist.
- A minimum of 3 years’ appropriate experience after registration.
- Willingness to register as a Responsible Pharmacist and tutor staff.
- Valid Driver’s License (Code B/EB or equivalent).
- Knowledge of National and Provincial Health Policies and Pharmaceutical Acts.
- Strong management, communication, interpersonal, and conflict handling skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and maintain professionalism.
