What You’ll Do
- Manage medical conditions in urology to ensure effective treatment and care.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding prevention and treatment options.
- Develop skills in resuscitation and intensive care for critically ill patients.
- Prescribe medications and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
- Assist in medical procedures and surgeries as required.
- Supervise and train junior medical staff to enhance their competencies.
- Maintain accurate medical records and complete medico-legal documentation.
- Conduct clinical audits and evaluate clinical effectiveness indicators.
- Provide outreach support services to various levels of care in the Free State Province.
- Perform commuted duties as per departmental policies.
What You’ll Need
- Matric plus an appropriate qualification registered with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
- Current annual registration with HPCSA for the 2026/2027 period.
- For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration.
- For Grade 2: At least 5 years of relevant experience post-registration.
- For Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience post-registration.
- Strong knowledge of medical expertise, clinical regulations, and research analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work in a team.
- Problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and attention to detail are essential.

Requirements
Matric plus appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.Current annual registration with HPCSA (2026/2027).
Grade 1: None after registration with HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.

Job Duties
Management of medical conditions in urology to ensure that a competent service is provided to all patients.Briefing, informing and counselling patients and where appropriate relatives regarding prevention, treatment operative, complications and rehabilitation.
Endeavour to become skilled in resuscitative measures and intensive care treatment to assure survival of critically ill- patients.
Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and assist in medical procedures and surgeries.
Supervise junior staff in order to provide adequate medical care and to train them to be able to do key medical interventions.
Reduce medical litigation by exercising good clinical ethos, complete medico-legal documentation, and maintain accurate medical records.
165 Perform clinical governance and ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements with FSDoH, OHSC, HPCSA, CMSA and UFS.
Consult patients on an outpatient basis to have optimal chronic disease management and good long term follow-up.
Render outreach and support services to other levels of care in drainage areas (Free State Province).
Candidate will have to perform commuted duties (compulsory & non-negotiable) in line with the relevant policy.
Conducting clinical audits.
Monitoring and evaluating of relevant clinical effectiveness indicators.
Perform all reasonable duties as directed by the Head of Department / Head of Clinical Unit / Medical Specialist.
