What You’ll Do

  • Manage the identification and implementation of integrated development interventions in collaboration with the community and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and review legislation and policies to ensure relevance and compliance with current requirements.
  • Develop proposals for amending existing acts and policies and create new policies as necessary.
  • Oversee the community development unit to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Stay updated on advancements in community development to enhance service delivery and innovation.
  • Plan and coordinate research activities related to community development initiatives.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Development Studies, or Social Sciences.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in community development, with a minimum of 5 years in community policy development.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of South African legislation relevant to community development and public service.
  • Strong skills in policy development, project management, and financial management.
  • Ability to engage with community members and facilitate their participation in development ventures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and proficient in computer literacy and numeracy.
