What You’ll Do
- Monitor the receipt of applications for operating licenses from public transport operators in the region.
- Ensure all submitted applications have the required supporting documentation and are accurately captured.
- Provide information related to the operating licensing cycle to stakeholders and public transport operators.
- Manage the verification process for submitted applications and escalate any suspected fraudulent documentation.
- Maintain records of all verified documentation and ensure compliance with legislative frameworks.
- Liaise with public transport operators, commuters, and other government agencies to facilitate communication and compliance.
- Participate in the development and review of policies and standard operating procedures in response to regulatory changes.
- Supervise staff performance, providing coaching and mentoring to enhance productivity and service delivery.
- Implement effective human resource management practices within the component to support staff development.
What You’ll Need
- National Diploma (NQF level 6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Transportation Management, Licensing, Law, Transport Economics, Public Management, or Administration Management.
- 3-5 years of experience in the public transport licensing or public transport environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of GPG and GPDRT policies and procedures, and relevant legislation, including the NLTA and PFMA.
- Strong understanding of customer expectations and service level agreements.
- Proven competency in customer relations, stakeholder relationship management, and financial management.
- Proficient in computer utilization and business performance management.
