What You’ll Do

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for all departmental functions in accordance with the Public Service Act and Regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate police service delivery, addressing community complaints and enhancing public trust.
• Lead the formulation and implementation of policies, strategies, and training programs to promote effective service delivery.
• Manage departmental resources, including human resources, to ensure optimal performance and outcomes.
• Advise the Premier on matters related to community safety and legal support services as per the SAPS Act.
• Establish efficient administrative systems to support departmental functions and service delivery.
• Engage with high-level stakeholders, including government officials and community leaders, to foster collaboration and support.

What You’ll Need

• A qualification at NQF level 8 in LLB, Criminology, Public Administration, or Social Sciences as recognized by SAQA.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a senior management role.
• Proficient computer literacy and a valid driver’s license.
• Strong strategic and leadership capabilities with extensive knowledge of national and provincial legislation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Experience in working with organized labour and engaging with senior officials within the public sector.
• Proven project management, financial management, and people management skills.
