What You’ll Do
- Conduct daily roadworthy inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Operate specialized plant and heavy equipment for various maintenance tasks.
- Implement best practices in driver and operator systems to enhance efficiency.
- Transport work teams and necessary materials or equipment to designated sites.
- Collect goods from suppliers and ensure timely delivery to department stores.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, and vehicle inspections.
- Assist with maintenance work at gauging stations and support technical personnel as needed.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Valid Code EC / EC1 driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Certified competency or operating certificate for heavy plant/machinery.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in driving heavy motor vehicles and operating heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of traffic and road safety regulations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy vehicles and machinery.
- Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to adverse conditions.
