What You’ll Do

  • Render laundry services by maintaining a safe and clean working environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Collect and accurately record linen from relevant depots.
  • Follow procedures for preparing and disinfecting linen for washing.
  • Inspect, mend, and mark laundry to keep items in good condition.
  • Operate various laundry machines, including washing machines, dryers, and ironing presses.
  • Iron, fold, count, and pack laundered items, ensuring they are sealed in linen bags.
  • Sort, count, and record dirty linen efficiently.
  • Report any machine defects to the supervisor and maintain laundry equipment properly.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team or independently as required.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent) with no prior experience necessary.
  • Understanding of a laundry setup and procedures.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work night shifts.
  • Physical strength to manage the demands of the position.
  • Honesty, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.
