What You’ll Do
- Provide laundry services by collecting, washing, and distributing linen according to established guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety standards.
- Keep accurate records of linen collected and returned to various departments.
- Follow procedures for preparing and disinfecting linen before washing.
- Operate laundry machines, including washers, dryers, and irons, ensuring they are maintained in proper working order.
- Inspect, mend, and mark laundry items to keep them in good condition.
- Sort, count, and pack laundered items for delivery to clients.
- Report any machine faults or defects to the supervisor promptly.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 Certificate or equivalent).
- Basic understanding of laundry operations and equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including night shifts.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the role.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Honesty and reliability in performing job responsibilities.
