What You’ll Do
- Render laundry services in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Collect and return linen from designated depots and units.
- Maintain accurate records of linen collected and returned.
- Prepare and disinfect linen for washing following established guidelines.
- Inspect, mend, and mark laundry to keep it in excellent condition.
- Operate various laundry machines including washers, dryers, and ironing equipment.
- Iron, fold, count, and pack laundered items efficiently.
- Sort, count, and record dirty linen accurately.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or defects to the supervisor.
- Maintain laundry equipment by monitoring performance and requesting services as needed.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent) with no prior experience required.
- Understanding of laundry operations and procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including night shifts.
- Physical strength to meet the demands of the position.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Honesty and reliability are essential traits for this role.
