What You’ll Do

• Conduct underground, shaft, and surface audits and inspections related to occupational hygiene.
• Investigate and report on mine-related accidents, contraventions, and complaints.
• Analyze trends and identify high-risk mining operations to take appropriate action.
• Serve on boards of examiners to assess various mining practices.
• Provide input on mine closure, prospecting rights, and permit applications.
• Collaborate on regional reports and revisions of mining regulations and guidelines.
• Engage in risk management and legal hazard identification.

What You’ll Need

• A National Diploma in Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Health (NQF6).
• A Certificate in Mine Environmental Control.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Occupational Hygiene.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act Regulations.
• Strong skills in planning, organizing, and report writing.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in language and computer skills.
