What You’ll Do

  • Manage, train, and guide a team of prosecutors in their daily operations.
  • Review and analyze case dockets to determine the viability of criminal proceedings.
  • Prepare cases for court, including drafting charge sheets and other legal documents.
  • Present and assist in the prosecution of cases in the Regional and District Courts.
  • Lead witnesses and conduct cross-examinations during trials.
  • Maintain the administration of the District Court office, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with partners in the criminal justice sector to enhance community involvement.
  • Conduct performance assessments of staff in collaboration with senior management.

What You’ll Need

  • An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
  • A minimum of four years’ post-qualification legal experience.
  • Proven ability to act independently and professionally in complex legal matters.
  • Strong skills in drafting complex legal documents and charge sheets.
  • Excellent management and administrative capabilities.
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential matters discreetly.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in the public sector.
