Financial Accountant (Hotel Industry) – Cape Town

Synergy Human Resources is seeking a Financial Accountant to join a company in the hotel industry based in Cape Town. The role focuses on managing financial accounting tasks to ensure accurate reporting and control of financial resources.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare management accounts and draft financial statements.
Implement financial controls over assets, income streams, and expenses.
Process and calculate month-end journals.
Manage all book processing up to trial balance.
Handle cashbooks, debtor invoicing, statements, reconciliations, and credit control.
Manage creditor functions including batching supplier invoices, tracking payment discounts, reconciliations, and supplier queries.
Process depreciation journals and deferred tax entries.
Review and submit VAT and payroll calculations.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage all accounting functions and reporting as required.

Requirements

Experience in financial accounting within the hotel or related industry.
Ability to prepare management accounts, financial statements, and perform reconciliations.
Familiarity with processing month-end journals and managing VAT and payroll submissions.
Competence in debtor and creditor ledger controls.
Knowledge of depreciation, deferred tax, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Additional Information

This position is located in Cape Town and involves full financial accounting duties for a hotel industry client.
