What You’ll Do

  • Receive and verify applications for vehicle testing and licensing.
  • Inspect and test vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Check the authenticity of vehicle identification numbers and registration certificates.
  • Capture test results and relevant data on the National Traffic Information System (NaTIS).
  • Issue roadworthy certificates upon successful completion of inspections.
  • Provide guidance and explanations of procedures to applicants.
  • Manage and oversee the duties of Junior Examiners to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Address public inquiries regarding road traffic laws and licensing issues.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records related to testing and compliance.
  • Implement systems to prevent fraud and corruption within the department.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF Level 6/7 qualification in Public Administration, Public Management, or Transport Management.
  • Qualification and registration as an Examiner of Vehicles and Drivers Licenses.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience as an Examiner.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of GPG and GPDRT policies and relevant legislation.
  • Strong customer service skills and a proactive approach.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
