About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to join its Engineering & Technical Services team at the Head Office in Bhisho. What You’ll Do
- Provide inputs on technical and functional norms and standards for health facilities.
- Monitor compliance of infrastructure projects with engineering norms and standards.
- Update and develop functional and technical standards based on project evaluations.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on innovative service delivery proposals.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the impact and constraints of electrical engineering solutions.
- Develop cost-effective engineering solutions in line with approved standards.
- Prepare technical specifications and evaluate existing technical manuals for new technologies.
- Undertake preliminary cost evaluations for installations and provide engineering design proposals.
- Collaborate with project teams to implement successful electrical engineering solutions.
- Stay informed on changes in health sector standards, legal frameworks, and policies.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B Eng/BSC (Eng) or relevant qualification).
- Minimum of three (3) years’ post-qualification experience.
- Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Mechanical).
- Valid Driver’s licence.
- Proficient computer literacy.
