About the Role
The Department of Transport is actively seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Driver in various locations across South Africa, including cities like Pretoria, Durban, and Cape Town. As a Driver, you will be an integral part of our team, tasked with the maintenance of allocated state vehicles and the completion of vital log sheets and monthly returns. What You’ll Do
- Transport equipment, vehicles, and personnel throughout the province.
- Ensure the maintenance of allocated state vehicles is conducted regularly.
- Complete log sheets and prepare monthly returns accurately.
- Book vehicles for servicing and repairs at the garage.
- Uphold confidentiality of all classified documents according to established protocols.
What You’ll Need
- Proven competency in the core functions of the Driver role.
- Proficiency in at least English and one other official language.
- Citizenship of the Republic of South Africa, with documentation proof required on the interview day.
- A minimum of Grade 10/Standard 8/NCV Level 2 qualification.
- At least two years of relevant driving experience.
- A valid light motor vehicle license and Public Driving Permit (PDP).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in at least two official languages.
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary, with high levels of integrity, reliability, and punctuality.
