About the Role
The Department of Transport is seeking dedicated individuals to fill nine positions for Driver Operators across various locations including Mothapo, Nebo, Dwaalboom, Lephalale, Roedtan, and Letaba in the Capricorn, Sekhukhune, Waterberg, and Mopani districts. What You’ll Do
- Operate specialized equipment for road maintenance and repairs.
- Load and offload goods and equipment as necessary.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of vehicles and machinery, reporting any defects.
- Maintain accurate log sheets for vehicles and machinery usage.
- Implement safety measures and protocols while performing tasks.
- Engage in regravelling and shoulder maintenance of gravel roads.
- Provide driving services for transporting work teams and materials.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and ensure vehicle readiness.
What You’ll Need
- A qualification at NQF Level 04 as recognized by SAQA.
- A valid Code EC driver’s license and Operating Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in driving and operating specialized equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant acts and regulations governing road operations.
- Familiarity with health and safety measures in road maintenance.
- Strong decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
