What You’ll Do

• Manage and oversee the undertaking of field surveys for geodetic, photogrammetric, and topographic purposes.
• Ensure timely execution of field surveys in alignment with the annual production plan.
• Facilitate the acquisition of ancillary geo-spatial data and engage with data custodians.
• Lead the establishment and maintenance of the National Control Survey System.
• Provide strategic leadership in managing horizontal and vertical control survey networks.
• Offer professional and technical support to various government entities, including rural development programs.
• Participate in geo-spatial information development projects across Africa.
• Plan and execute projects adhering to best practices in project management.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 Certificate and an undergraduate qualification (NQF 7) in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field recognized by the South African Geomatics Council.
• Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor with the South African Geomatics Council.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a middle or senior managerial role within a land surveying environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Extensive knowledge of geo-spatial information management, geodesy, and surveying practices.
• Familiarity with relevant legislation such as the Spatial Data Infrastructure Act and the Land Survey Act.
• Strong project management skills, including time management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
