About the Role
The Department of Finance is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the position of Director: Supply Chain, Asset and Management Accounting in Kimberley, located in the Frances Baard District. This essential role focuses on providing strategic management guidance and advice regarding management accounting services, ensuring that the departmental budget aligns with the strategic priorities of the department and the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP). What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic management guidance on management accounting services.
- Compile and manage the departmental budget, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Advise the Chief Financial Officer on budgetary implications and strategic interventions.
- Evaluate departmental performance against predetermined objectives and standards.
- Manage budget allocations and assess expenditure trends.
- Oversee the preparation of annual and adjustment budgets.
- Ensure that supply chain management (SCM) and asset processes align with operational plans.
- Develop and implement SCM and asset policies and frameworks in line with legislation.
- Manage the disposal of redundant or obsolete items according to legislative processes.
- Coordinate SCM and asset management audits, implementing audit recommendations.
- Lead human resource management, including performance monitoring and training.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant tertiary qualification at NQF level 7 in Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, or Supply Chain and Asset Management.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial field at middle or senior management level.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of financial legislation related to the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Familiarity with tender legislation, processes, and protocols.
- Excellent management and communication skills.
