What You’ll Do
- Lead the development and review of food and nutrition policies, strategies, and guidelines.
- Conduct literature searches to gather the latest evidence and analyze available data.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate the implementation and monitoring of nutrition interventions and programs.
- Provide leadership and technical support to provinces regarding nutrition program implementation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance food and nutrition initiatives.
- Engage with development partners to facilitate priority nutrition interventions and reduce duplication of efforts.
- Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools for nutrition programs.
- Manage human, financial, and asset resources in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and other regulations.
- Supervise human resources within the directorate, focusing on performance management and staff wellness.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree or NQF 7 qualification in Dietetics or Nutrition.
- A postgraduate qualification in Nutrition/Dietetics and HPCSA registration as a Nutritionist or Dietitian is advantageous.
- A minimum of five years of experience at a middle/senior managerial level in nutrition and/or public health.
- Knowledge of the National Health Act and relevant food and nutrition-related regulations and policies.
- Strong communication, leadership, and people management skills.
- A valid driver’s license and the SMS pre-entry Certificate for appointment finalisation.
