What You’ll Do
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the department’s integrated communications strategy.
- Manage internal and external communication, including media and social media engagement.
- Oversee stakeholder relations and coordinate events, exhibitions, and departmental campaigns.
- Ensure coherence and alignment in communication across inter-departmental and inter-governmental platforms.
- Supervise the department’s media liaison function and monitor media coverage.
- Direct the editorial and publication processes for statutory and corporate documents.
- Manage budgetary resources, projecting, and reporting expenditure effectively.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the communications team.
What You’ll Need
- Matric certificate with an undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Communications, Public Relations, Media Liaison, or Journalism as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a middle or senior management role within a communications environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of GPG policies, public service regulations, and relevant legislation.
- Proficient understanding of financial management, project management methodologies, and policy development.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, leadership, and report writing skills.
- Innovative, client-oriented, and flexible approach to problem-solving.
