What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement the asset management system and procedures.
- Establish and manage the Asset Management Unit and its policies.
- Create and maintain strategic and annual asset management plans.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of asset registers, including acquisitions and valuations.
- Conduct asset verification, investigate discrepancies, and report findings.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of asset registers with accounting records.
- Manage valuations for immovable assets and update registers accordingly.
- Utilize financial systems for transaction capturing and reporting.
- Implement performance measurement systems to evaluate asset utilization.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) in Finance, Assets, or Logistics Management.
- A minimum of five years’ experience at a middle or senior managerial level.
- Extensive knowledge of Asset Management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Financial Management procedures, the PFMA, and Treasury Regulations.
- Proficiency in LOGIS and accounting systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with advanced computer literacy.
- Ability to manage staff, work independently, and handle pressure effectively.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
