What You’ll Do
- Conduct in-depth research on the restructuring of SOEs in the transport, defence, and general sectors.
- Review and assess restructuring and turnaround plans for these entities.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate the restructuring process.
- Provide strategic insights on initiatives aimed at repositioning SOEs.
- Monitor and analyse financial statements and corporate plans of SOEs.
- Participate in the development and review of relevant government legislation and regulations.
- Examine the alignment of corporate plans with policy objectives.
- Keep abreast of industry trends affecting the transport, defence, and general sectors.
- Exercise oversight over Schedule 2 and 3B SOEs.
- Assess and provide input on guarantee requests from SOEs.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 certificate along with a minimum National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Finance or Economics.
- A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in a relevant field is an advantage.
- At least 4 years of experience, with a minimum of 2 years at an Assistant Director level or equivalent in the transport, defence, and/or general sectors.
- Strong knowledge and experience of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Competence in financial policy analysis and strategic planning.
- Familiarity with financial management, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Understanding of government policy frameworks.
