What You’ll Do
- Manage the departmental strategic and annual operational planning processes.
- Coordinate departmental planning sessions to align strategies with government priorities.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate planning policies and procedures.
- Facilitate the development and review of departmental policies, ensuring alignment with provincial and national policies.
- Oversee the implementation of the research agenda and support line managers in executing research recommendations.
- Supervise a team, ensuring their professional development and performance management.
- Conduct quality control on work delivered by supervisees and manage resources effectively.
What You’ll Need
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 06/07) in Strategy and Policy Development, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Strategic Planning and Policy Development, with at least 3 years at an Assistant Director level.
- A valid driver’s license (unless exempt due to disability).
- Strong knowledge of PFMA, public service legislation, and strategic planning processes.
- Excellent skills in strategic thinking, communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
