The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Deputy Director: SHERQ, HIV, STI, TB & COIDA to join its team at the Head Office in Polokwane, Limpopo. What You’ll Do
- Manage the implementation of SHERQ and COIDA regulations and prescripts.
- Oversee the execution of HIV, STI, and TB health programs within the department.
- Conduct health risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Implement the Cheka Impilo program to promote health awareness and safety.
- Develop an implementation plan for managing occupational injuries and diseases.
- Collaborate with the Provincial AIDS Council and participate in technical committees.
- Liaise with the Compensation Commissioner regarding Injuries on Duty cases.
- Manage resources effectively within the Sub-directorate to ensure optimal operations.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 6 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Nursing Science, Social Work, Environmental Health, or equivalent recognized by SAQA.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) or the South African Council for Social Service professions (SACSSP) or a relevant statutory body.
- Five years of experience in the Employee Health and Wellness field, with at least three years at a supervisory level.
- Valid driver’s license (exceptions apply for persons with disabilities).
- Comprehensive knowledge of HIV, STI, TB legislation, and policies, as well as Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Strong communication, conflict management, problem-solving, and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in planning, organizing, and report writing.
