About the Role
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a dedicated and skilled Deputy Director: Security Management to join their team at the Port Elizabeth Regional Office. What You’ll Do
- Manage access control and physical security measures for the Port Elizabeth Regional Office.
- Conduct physical security audits and risk assessments to evaluate security effectiveness.
- Develop and implement information security strategies to safeguard departmental data.
- Advise management on security implications related to executive decisions.
- Facilitate the activities of the Security Committee in managing information security issues.
- Maintain records of security breaches and incidents, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
- Oversee contracted private security service providers, including procurement and performance management.
- Coordinate vetting and screening processes for staff dealing with sensitive information.
- Investigate security breaches and develop reporting procedures.
- Mentor and supervise security staff, fostering a culture of discipline and performance excellence.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) or National Diploma in Security Management or a related field.
- NIA Security advisory training or SSA Managers Course certification.
- Relevant experience at a Junior Management or Assistant Director level in the security field.
- A valid driver’s license is required for this role.
