What You’ll Do

• Manage access control and physical security measures for the Port Elizabeth Regional Office.
• Conduct physical security audits and risk assessments to evaluate security effectiveness.
• Develop and implement information security strategies to safeguard departmental data.
• Advise management on security implications related to executive decisions.
• Facilitate the activities of the Security Committee in managing information security issues.
• Maintain records of security breaches and incidents, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
• Oversee contracted private security service providers, including procurement and performance management.
• Coordinate vetting and screening processes for staff dealing with sensitive information.
• Investigate security breaches and develop reporting procedures.
• Mentor and supervise security staff, fostering a culture of discipline and performance excellence.

What You’ll Need

• A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) or National Diploma in Security Management or a related field.
• NIA Security advisory training or SSA Managers Course certification.
• Relevant experience at a Junior Management or Assistant Director level in the security field.
• A valid driver’s license is required for this role.
