What You’ll Do
- Manage assigned legal portfolios and oversee the work of Advocates and Prosecutors.
- Handle complex and high-profile cases, providing guidance and support throughout the prosecution process.
- Investigate and prosecute criminal cases with diligence and integrity.
- Prepare legal documents, including charge sheets, indictments, and other necessary court materials.
- Present cases in court, which includes examining and cross-examining witnesses.
- Study appeals and reviews, preparing opinions and arguments for the appropriate courts.
- Develop and implement strategic planning initiatives for the division.
- Oversee staff development, performance management, and assessment.
- Collaborate with partners in the criminal justice system to enhance community involvement and satisfaction.
What You’ll Need
- An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of post-qualification experience in civil and/or criminal litigation.
- Admission as an Attorney/Advocate is advantageous.
- Strong advocacy and legal drafting skills.
- Knowledge of civil and criminal procedures.
- Right of appearance as per the NPA Act, section 25(2).
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to work extended hours.
