What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and integrate all departmental planning activities to ensure cohesive strategy development.
  • Support the creation of planning frameworks that guide the department’s initiatives.
  • Facilitate the development of medium- and long-term provincial plans and monitor their implementation.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to foster alignment and buy-in for provincial plans.
  • Collaborate with national and local government entities to develop integrated plans.
  • Manage the development of departmental strategic planning documents following DPME guidelines.
  • Organize logistical arrangements for strategic planning sessions within the department.
  • Analyze and consolidate strategic and annual performance plans from various branches.
  • Provide secretariat services during strategic planning sessions.
  • Oversee policy development and review processes, ensuring alignment with national standards.
  • Manage human and physical resources within the sub-directorate, focusing on performance and development.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF level 6 qualification in Public Management, Strategic Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Integrated Planning and Research, with at least 3 years in a junior managerial role.
  • Valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
  • In-depth knowledge of the public service legislative framework, including PSR, PFMA, and Treasury regulations.
  • Strong understanding of Strategic Plans, Annual Performance Plans, and Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strategic thinking abilities with a focus on customer service and innovation in service delivery.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizing skills.
