The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the position of Deputy Director: EPWP National Youth Service and Building at the Mmabatho Regional Office. What You’ll Do
- Manage the implementation of the National Youth Service programme at the Mmabatho Regional Office.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure compliance with EPWP requirements in contract documents.
- Prepare specifications for projects, including bills of quantities.
- Conduct recruitment processes for NYS participants and general labour.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to secure their involvement in the NYS initiatives.
- Monitor and report on the participation of EPWP NYS participants and general labour.
- Compile progress reports on various managed programmes.
- Oversee the budget management for the component, including preparing budget reports.
- Lead and manage the sub-directorate effectively.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6/National Diploma) in Social Sciences, Built Environment disciplines, or Training and Skills Development.
- Relevant experience at a Junior Management or Assistant Director level in programme and project management.
- A valid driver’s license and a strong understanding of the Expanded Public Works Programme and National Youth Service.
- Knowledge of the construction industry’s labour-intensive methods and youth development programmes.
- Familiarity with the structure and function of government, as well as Skills and Training processes.
- Understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and related regulations.
- Excellent communication, training, analytical, and writing skills.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
