About the Role
The Department of Social Development is seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Director: Crime Prevention Partnerships to be based in Bojanala. What You’ll Do
- Develop and review community outreach programs to enhance public safety.
- Initiate and coordinate crime prevention programs across the province.
- Promote community participation in safety initiatives and foster positive police-community relations.
- Manage and support the implementation of Provincial Crime Prevention Strategies.
- Establish and monitor community safety structures to ensure their effectiveness.
- Coordinate the evaluation of safety models and report on progress.
- Manage key performance responsibilities and oversee the budget for the sub-directorate.
- Facilitate dialogues on safety and enhance the quality of safety programs available to the community.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, along with a National Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, LLB, Development Studies, Policing, or Community Development.
- At least five years of relevant work experience in the safety and security environment, with three to five years in a junior management role.
- A valid Code EB (08) Driver’s License.
- Strong knowledge of the Integrated Crime and Violence Prevention Strategy, SAPS Act, and Public Service Act, among others.
- Proven skills in community mobilization, stakeholder management, and project coordination.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours as needed.

Requirements
Grade (12) certificate or equivalent plus three (3) year National Diploma/ Degree (NQF level 6/7) in Social Sciences, LLB, Development Studies, Policing and Community Development.Five (5) years’ relevant work experience within safety and security environment of which three (3) to five (5) of experience in a junior management (Assistant Director) level.

Job Duties
