What You’ll Do

  • Develop and review frameworks for public entity oversight and governance protocols.
  • Provide recommendations for the appointment and remuneration of board members and executive management in alignment with relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate annual general meetings, advising on agenda items.
  • Maintain a database for performance plans, corporate plans, and annual reports of public entities.
  • Monitor compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and other relevant legislation.
  • Review applications from public entities regarding governance compliance and provide inputs on performance evaluations.
  • Offer governance services to other public entities under Schedule 2 and 3B.
  • Support the Fiscal Liability Committee by providing secretariat services.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 qualification along with an LLB degree or equivalent four-year Bachelor’s Degree in law (NQF level 8).
  • A minimum of four years’ experience, with at least two years at an Assistant Director level or similar in a public entities corporate governance environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the PFMA, Companies Act, King Code, and relevant prescripts.
  • Familiarity with government policies and frameworks governing public entities.
