What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement competitive sport strategies aligned with national frameworks.
- Coordinate the creation of Annual Performance Plans and operational plans.
- Manage provincial competitive sport programmes and major sporting events.
- Facilitate inter-district and national participation programmes.
- Oversee talent identification and athlete development systems.
- Establish strategic partnerships with sport federations, schools, and municipalities.
- Manage the competitive sport budget and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with public service regulations and departmental policies.
What You’ll Need
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 06/07) in Sport Management, Sport Sciences, or a related qualification.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a sports environment, including 3 years at an Assistant Director level.
- A valid driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).
- Strong knowledge of public service administration, Batho Pele Principles, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills.
- Proven ability in planning, organizing, and managing diverse teams and stakeholders.
