The Department of Agriculture is seeking a dedicated Demand & Acquisition Practitioner to join its Head Office in Polokwane. What You’ll Do
- Receive and process requests from end users for procurement of goods and services
- Invite suppliers to submit quotations and manage the quotation process
- Capture procurement requests on the Departmental Procurement System
- Prepare and dispatch approval memos for bids
- Handle the opening of bid files and ensure proper documentation according to procurement policies
- Advertise bids on relevant platforms, including the departmental website and other media
- Act as the secretariat during bid specification, evaluation, and adjudication meetings
- Conduct site inspections for shortlisted suppliers and compile evaluation reports
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier database and track the status of all bids
What You’ll Need
- An NQF level 6 qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related field
- At least 1 year of functional experience in Supply Chain Management
- Strong understanding of supply chain management legislation and frameworks
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Good communication skills with a focus on client orientation and customer service
- Proficiency in computer applications and analytical skills
