What You’ll Do

• Manage technical services and provide support in the field and workshop for hydrological activities.
• Promote safety in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and update technical manuals, standard drawings, and procedures to integrate new technologies.
• Ensure quality assurance for technical designs and authorise recommendations for approval.
• Oversee administrative and human resource functions related to projects.
• Contribute to budgeting, operational planning, and procurement processes.
• Compile and submit reports as required, and manage risk and disaster-related matters.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on new technologies.
• Mentor and supervise junior personnel in technical matters.
• Conduct research on engineering technology to enhance expertise.
• Liaise with relevant councils and bodies on engineering-related issues.
• Be prepared for extensive travel and work away from the office as needed.

What You’ll Need

• A National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Six years of post-qualification experience in technical engineering.
• Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as an Engineering Technician.
• A valid, unexpired driver’s license.
• Knowledge of technical design and analysis of hydrological infrastructure.
• Familiarity with hydrological data management and research practices.
• Proficiency in computer-aided engineering applications.
• Understanding of legal compliance and project management principles.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork abilities.
