What You’ll Do

• Manage and oversee the programming, budgeting, and reporting of capital projects related to road construction.
• Coordinate the implementation of departmental roads infrastructure and capital projects.
• Monitor project management efficiencies to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide support for project management and ensure occupational health and safety standards are met.
• Maintain and manage construction quality assurance and standards across various projects.
• Identify trends in construction and recommend improvements to existing management guidelines and policies.
• Develop operational plans for the Chief Directorate and monitor progress and performance.
• Oversee compliance with applicable legislation and departmental policies.

What You’ll Need

• An NQF level 7 qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or Built Environment, recognized by SAQA.
• Registration with a professional body such as ECSA or SACPCMP.
• A minimum of 5 years senior management experience in a transport infrastructure or built environment context.
• Extensive experience in the planning, management, and execution of road construction projects is highly advantageous.
• A valid driver’s license and completion of the Nyukela Senior Management Pre-entry certificate are required prior to appointment.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, construction contract law, and departmental technical standards.
• Proven strategic leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
