About the Role
The Department of Infrastructure is seeking a Construction Project Manager for Infrastructure Delivery based at the Head Office in Bhisho, Eastern Cape. This pivotal role plays a significant part in shaping the infrastructure landscape of the region, ensuring that essential projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. As a Construction Project Manager, you will contribute to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of infrastructure programs that directly impact the community’s well-being and quality of life.
Your work will not only involve managing various infrastructure projects but also collaborating with various stakeholders, including Implementing Agents and professionals in the Directorate of Infrastructure Planning. This role is vital for maintaining and improving public infrastructure, which supports economic development and enhances service delivery across the province.

What You’ll Do
- Assist in preparing the Procurement Strategy and Infrastructure Programme Management Plan (IPMP)
- Help develop the infrastructure budget and finalize project lists
- Prepare project briefs and present them to the Implementing Agent as part of the Project Execution Plan
- Monitor project implementation and ensure adherence to Service Delivery Agreements
- Manage the implementation of projects not allocated to an Implementing Agent
- Review Variation Orders in collaboration with professionals in the Directorate Infrastructure Planning
- Develop Project Stage reports and designs in line with strategic decision-making points
- Coordinate project commissioning, including site visits and maintenance plans
- Engage in continuous improvement of best practices and procedures
- Conduct Post Project and Post Occupancy Evaluations
- Stay updated with new developments in the field through professional journals
- Monitor health sector legal frameworks and standards
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate
- B Tech, Degree, or Honours Degree in the Built Environment
- Registration as a Construction Project Manager with SACPCMP
- A valid driver’s license
- Computer literacy
- 3 years of post-qualification experience (4 years and 6 months for National Higher Diploma holders; 4 years for BTech; 6 years for National Diploma holders)
