What You’ll Do
- Monitor and advocate for the wellbeing of children in the Western Cape.
- Prepare and participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises to review service delivery.
- Report on the activities and findings related to the Children’s Commissioner.
- Support the functions and initiatives of the Western Cape Children’s Commissioner.
- Create and implement public awareness programs regarding children’s rights.
- Provide information and advice on children’s rights to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in investigations related to the mandate of the Commissioner.
What You’ll Need
- A 3-year Tertiary qualification (National Diploma) in Social Sciences or a related field recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar environment, particularly in child rights, youth and community development, or child protection.
- Understanding of legislation related to public service and children’s rights.
- Strong skills in public communication, data analysis, and report writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, including children and the public.
- Competencies in problem solving, budgeting, and human resource planning.
