What You’ll Do

  • Manage the operations of bulk water infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance of pump stations, dams, and pipelines.

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, fostering a safe work environment for all staff.
  • Lead a team of human resources, focusing on effective management and development of personnel.
  • Implement policies related to water distribution and manage the legal compliance of all operations within the area office jurisdiction.
  • Monitor and evaluate water management strategies to enhance service delivery and resource sustainability.

What You’ll Need

  • A Senior/Grade 12 Certificate at NQF level 4.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Water Plant Operations.
  • A valid, unexpired driver’s licence.
  • Knowledge in managing water distribution for government water works within the jurisdiction.
  • Understanding of policy implementation and monitoring and evaluation principles.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and management of human resources.
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety protocols and public management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work independently.
