About the Role
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is seeking a Chief Prosecutor based in Modimolle and Thohoyandou. This pivotal role involves managing the performance of NPA personnel in lower courts, ensuring their efforts are aligned with the strategic objectives of the NPA. What You’ll Do
- Manage and oversee the performance of NPA personnel in lower courts.
- Align resources with the strategic objectives of the NPA.
- Train and guide prosecutors and stakeholders in all litigations.
- Conduct criminal proceedings, including preparing charge sheets and conducting witness examinations.
- Foster community involvement and integration within the criminal justice system.
- Compile reports and correspond on matters related to the cluster.
- Implement strategic interventions to guide prosecutors towards achieving objectives.
- Ensure high standards of professional work are maintained.
What You’ll Need
- An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
- At least ten years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to think strategically and innovatively.
- Demonstrable competency in acting independently, professionally, and accountably.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- General computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- A valid driver’s license.
