What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Chief Directorate, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
- Oversee the development and implementation of operational plans for tourism product and experience enhancement.
- Manage the maintenance and improvement of tourism products, including state-owned assets.
- Facilitate the integration of tourism with other sectors, such as creative industries, to foster collaboration and growth.
- Monitor and report on the performance of tourism initiatives, ensuring sustainability and effectiveness.
- Cultivate partnerships that enhance tourism experiences and routes, driving investment opportunities.
- Conduct audits of infrastructure and products to identify priority development needs.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum SAQA-recognized qualification at NQF level 7.
- At least 5 years of strategic management and leadership experience in a senior management role.
- In-depth knowledge of policy formulation and the tourism economy.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction abilities.
- High level of computer literacy and analytical skills.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Completion of the SMS pre-entry certificate is a requirement.
