What You’ll Do

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Chief Directorate, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
• Oversee the development and implementation of operational plans for tourism product and experience enhancement.
• Manage the maintenance and improvement of tourism products, including state-owned assets.
• Facilitate the integration of tourism with other sectors, such as creative industries, to foster collaboration and growth.
• Monitor and report on the performance of tourism initiatives, ensuring sustainability and effectiveness.
• Cultivate partnerships that enhance tourism experiences and routes, driving investment opportunities.
• Conduct audits of infrastructure and products to identify priority development needs.

What You’ll Need

• A minimum SAQA-recognized qualification at NQF level 7.
• At least 5 years of strategic management and leadership experience in a senior management role.
• In-depth knowledge of policy formulation and the tourism economy.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction abilities.
• High level of computer literacy and analytical skills.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• Completion of the SMS pre-entry certificate is a requirement.
