What You’ll Do

• Lead the strategic direction of the sport and recreation branch.
• Coordinate and monitor the implementation of strategic plans.
• Manage sport and recreation services effectively.
• Coordinate the upgrading of local sport and recreation facilities.
• Develop and implement seamless sport support programs.
• Establish governance structures for coaching and technical officiating.
• Create best practice manuals for sport and recreation programs.
• Develop frameworks for provincial sport and recreation governance.
• Foster a motivating and performance-driven working environment.
• Enhance employee motivation and team performance.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Sport Management, Sport Sciences, Sport Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years’ senior management experience in sport and recreation services.
• SMS pre-entry (Nyukela) certificate upon appointment.
• Valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
• Strong understanding of legislative frameworks governing public services.
• Proven skills in strategic capability, leadership, and people management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical thinking abilities.
