What You’ll Do

  • Oversee general and operational management of Primary Health Care services within the Sub-District.
  • Implement strategic and operational plans to enhance service delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective governance.
  • Manage financial, supply chain, and people management practices within the department.
  • Ensure high standards of Quality Assurance and Quality Management processes.
  • Provide support for health strategy initiatives and information management.
  • Lead efforts in Pharmaceutical and Laboratory Services management.

What You’ll Need

  • A Basic R425 qualification or equivalent that allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
  • A post-basic nursing qualification in Clinical Nursing Science accredited by the SANC.
  • At least 10 years of nursing experience post-registration, including 6 years in a relevant field and 3 years at a management level.
  • Valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of public sector legislation and experience with statistical data management.

Requirements

Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.

e.

diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.

A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care, accredited with the SANC (R48).

OR A4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.

A postgraduate diploma (R635) accredited with the SANC in Primary Health Care Nursing.

Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.

At least 6 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification, Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care.

At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience at management level.

Inherent requirements of the job: Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Competencies (knowledge/skills): The ability to function independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team (including the NPO sector).

Experience with statistical data and financial management.

Good interpersonal, people management skills.

Good communication skills.

Computer literacy (Ms Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

Knowledge of Public Sector legislation.

Job Duties

General and operational management of the Sub-District PHC services as well as all related services linked to the PHC facilities and implementation of the prescribed package of services.

Responsible for strategic and operational planning, the implementation of operational plans as well as monitoring and evaluation.

Responsible for internal and external governance including collaboration with other sectors and stakeholders.

Ensure sound Financial, Supply Chain Management and People Management practices.

Ensure an effective Quality Assurance and Quality Management process.

Manage Health Strategy and Support through good governance in Information management, Pharmaceutical & Laboratory Services.

Salary

R785 568 per annum
