What You’ll Do

  • Develop, review, and implement Records Management policies, guidelines, and procedure manuals.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking on records management practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide training and awareness on approved records management policies and filing systems.
  • Supervise messenger and mailroom services, ensuring timely and efficient handling of documents.
  • Monitor service level agreements related to contracts and compile quarterly performance reports.
  • Maintain and manage the department’s filing and records storage systems, ensuring compliance with the National Archives.
  • Address audit findings and implement corrective measures within specified timelines.
  • Support operational systems and processes within the Directorate, ensuring that all electronic records are managed appropriately.

What You’ll Need

  • A Senior Certificate and a minimum qualification at NQF Level 6 in Records Management or a related field as recognized by SAQA.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a records management environment, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • A solid understanding of the National Archives and Records Service Act and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS).
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Management skills, including decision-making, leadership, and project management capabilities.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
