What You’ll Do
- Support the development of ethics, integrity, and conduct management frameworks and policies.
- Conduct research to assist in drafting relevant prescripts, including policies, norms, and standards.
- Facilitate pilot programs to test the applicability of developed prescripts as needed.
- Communicate approved prescripts to various departments for implementation and provide support throughout the process.
- Process requests for approval and respond to inquiries from relevant authorities.
- Offer technical support and advice regarding ethics management and compliance.
- Contribute to the development of capacity-building programs and advocacy to promote ethical conduct in the public sector.
- Monitor compliance with established ethics and integrity guidelines through data collection and analysis.
- Assist in evaluation and impact studies to measure the effectiveness of implemented policies.
- Support the overall operations and systems within the directorate, including budget management and responding to audit findings.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum qualification at NQF Level 6 in Public Administration, Public Management, Law, or an equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.
- Ethics Officer Certification is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in ethics management, monitoring, or compliance environments.
- Strong knowledge of government legislative frameworks and public service policies.
- Attributes: Honesty, professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in sensitive situations, with the ability to build trust and demonstrate fairness.
- Competencies in client orientation, problem-solving, decision-making, and effective written and verbal communication.
- Proficient in data analytics, policy analysis, and research skills.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
