What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and manage the payment of rates and taxes, lease rentals, and other property-related expenditures.
  • Develop and implement long-term strategies to control municipal services expenditure effectively.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of the asset register for state-owned properties.
  • Record and monitor all financial transactions related to property management on the Property Management Information System (PMIS).
  • Assist in budget compilation for the sub-directorate and ensure sound financial management practices.
  • Lead a team, managing performance according to the established Performance Management System.
  • Implement strategies to achieve positive audit outcomes and minimize irregular expenditures.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 06) or a National Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and a strong understanding of PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
  • Background in supervising payments of accounts and managing municipal accounts, rates, and taxes.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy; knowledge of financial and payment systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong report-writing capabilities.
  • Good organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills; ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and adapt work schedules according to needs.
