What You’ll Do

  • Ensure effective administration of special pension payments
  • Supervise the generation and validation of payment information
  • Confirm beneficiary details and payment schedules
  • Oversee the countersigning of payment vouchers
  • Resolve audit queries related to special pension payments
  • Support the authorization of special pension payments
  • Implement user parameters on the CIVPEN system
  • Prepare and present reports on payment administration
  • Manage workflow and capacity planning within the unit
  • Provide inputs for policy development and implementation
  • Coach and mentor unit staff, managing performance and development
  • Monitor human resources aspects like leave and recruitment

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant three-year National Diploma or Degree in Financial Management
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or junior management role
  • Knowledge of Employee Benefits and the Public Finance Management Act
  • Familiarity with the Special Pensions Act and GPAA products and services
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities
  • Computer literacy and financial management skills
  • A customer-oriented approach with the ability to build strong relationships
