What You’ll Do
- Facilitate misconduct and disciplinary processes within the department.
- Develop effective strategies and tools for monitoring complex employee relations issues.
- Implement arbitration awards and labour court judgments.
- Advise on the resolution of sensitive employee relations matters.
- Monitor compliance with disciplinary codes and interpret relevant policies.
- Represent the department at disciplinary hearings and arbitration forums.
- Facilitate the implementation of fair labour practices in accordance with the Labour Relations Act.
- Conduct workshops and sessions on misconduct and disciplinary matters.
- Collaborate with legal services on labour disputes and litigation cases.
- Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders on labour-related issues.
- Draft reports on misconduct, grievances, and dispute matters.
- Facilitate collective bargaining programmes within the department.
- Ensure effective management of human, physical, and financial resources within the Unit.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification in Employment Relations, Industrial Relations, Labour Law, or a related field at NQF level 6.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Labour Relations Officer or Practitioner.
- Knowledge of the Labour Relations Act and relevant legislation.
- Familiarity with Public Service Resolutions and Collective Agreements.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
