What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement data and knowledge management systems within the department.
• Promote the knowledge economy and facilitate the integration of digital innovations.
• Establish a centralized digital repository for long-term retention of institutional knowledge.
• Engage and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies and academic institutions.
• Lead change management initiatives and upskill staff on systems integration.
• Manage and coordinate projects related to data science and innovation, ensuring timely execution.
• Oversee human resources functions within the Knowledge Economy Support unit, including training and development.

What You’ll Need

• NQF Level 7 Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or Knowledge Management.
• 3-4 years of experience in a junior management role within the public service, with project management experience in science innovation.
• Proven experience in economic development or science diplomacy initiatives.
• Strong understanding of data management, analytics, and stakeholder coordination.
• Knowledge of the SKA project and related regulatory frameworks is an advantage.
• Excellent skills in project lifecycle management, problem-solving, and strategic planning.
