What You’ll Do
- Manage operations within the Immigration Services Inspectorate.
- Provide guidance on immigration transgression cases.
- Represent the department in security cluster forums.
- Ensure thorough investigations of immigration-related violations.
- Review and improve quality management reports.
- Analyze inspection and investigation statistics.
- Advise and support office managers and district managers on immigration-related issues.
- Liaise with law enforcement agencies and assist in high-profile cases.
- Oversee the deportation process and ensure humane treatment.
- Coordinate investigations regarding residence permits and legal compliance.
- Develop policies, procedures, and risk management strategies.
- Mentor staff and promote best practices in compliance.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification in Law, Public Management, Public Administration, LLB, Policing, Criminology, Forensics, Paralegal, or Criminal Justice at NQF level 6.
- A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a law enforcement, legal, or security environment.
- Strong understanding of the Public Service Regulatory Framework, Refugee Act, and Immigration Act.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Prosecution Act and International treaties.
- A valid driver’s license (Code B/C1/C/EC1) and a Public Driver Permit (PDP).
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours.
- Excellent liaison, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
