The Department of Water and Sanitation is seeking a dedicated professional for the position of Assistant Director: Capacity Building in King William’s Town. What You’ll Do
- Support the implementation of water service delivery programs and policies.
- Facilitate workshops to raise awareness about water service guidelines and strategies.
- Implement strategies through Water Services Development Plans (WSDPs) and ensure compliance with household water service policies.
- Provide business planning and monitoring support to the water services sector.
- Coordinate training and capacity building for Water Service Authorities (WSAs) and Water Service Institutions (WSIs).
- Empower newly elected councillors on water service management.
- Advocate for water use efficiency and promote water advocacy programs.
- Manage health and hygiene awareness initiatives to reduce water-borne diseases.
- Oversee human resources and financial management within the section.
What You’ll Need
- National Diploma in Social Science at NQF level 6.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a water services environment.
- Teaching experience is an added advantage.
- Valid unexpired driver’s license.
- Strong understanding of diversity management and strategic capability.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- Knowledge of local government policies and guidelines governing the water sector.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with project management, presentation, and facilitation skills.
