The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking an Assistant Director: Asset, Fleet and Facility based in Witbank, Mpumalanga. What You’ll Do
- Manage and oversee the department’s office and operational assets, fleet, and facilities.
- Handle procurement services to ensure timely and efficient acquisition of necessary resources.
- Conduct office administration and document management, ensuring all records are maintained accurately.
- Compile and manage Asset Management and Procurement plans to align with departmental goals.
- Monitor expenditure and manage inputs relating to the regional budget effectively.
- Perform physical bank transactions, including withdrawals and deposits, as needed.
- Manage the cash book and petty cash to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct performance management for staff directly reporting to you, fostering their professional growth.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism while working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant B Degree (NQF level 7) or a three-year Diploma (NQF level 6) in Public Administration or an equivalent qualification.
- At least three years of experience in asset, fleet, and facilities management.
- In-depth knowledge of the Public Service Act, its regulations, and their application.
- Demonstrated competency in independent and professional decision-making.
- Experience with property leasing and contract management.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management Framework and Public Finance Management Act.
- Strong leadership, communication, and administrative skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Proficient in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
